about
"Mad One" is the third that comes to light out of the long awaited Blend Mishkin album called “Unity of Opposites” which is coming out on June 10th
Blend Mishkin & Roots Evolution are bringing in Barry Ashworth of Dub Pistols—and find a way to take his legendary punk sensitivities and set them to an undercurrent of reggae with mariachi style brass and Eastern Mediterranean influences. The fully stated rhythmic background of brasses and Vassilis Nitsakis’s melodic bass transports us to a Brixton street, then the throaty chanting of MC Dank Meme brings us to another musical arena. Disparate elements, even different vocal styles, create an upbeat, blues-tinged cut that makes us move to a cool beat.
