Blend Mishkin and Panos Dimitrakopoulos embark on a journey to make an album like nothing they have made before.

“The Lost Continent” features the Kanun, a traditional Middle Eastern stringed instrument - known in Greece since the ancient times with an immense presence in the traditional music of Asia Minor - as its centrepiece, and draws inspiration from various cultures and regions, including the Levantine area, Greece, Turkey, North Africa and the Middle East.

With an expert use of the Kanun by virtuoso player Panos Dimitrakopoulos and the incorporation of dub techniques and cinematic soundscapes by Blend Mishkin together they have crafted a truly unique listening experience that is sure to captivate music lovers of all backgrounds.

Speaking about the album, Blend Mishkin said, "We wanted to create something that would showcase the beauty of traditional music, but also bring it into the modern age. The Kanun is such a versatile instrument, and we wanted to use it in a way that would allow it to shine, while also incorporating modern elements that would make the music accessible to a wider audience."
Panos Dimitrakopoulos added, "We were inspired by the different cultures and regions that we've both experienced throughout our lives, and we wanted to create a sound that would reflect that diversity. We hope that listeners will be transported to different parts of the world through our music, and that they'll be able to appreciate the beauty of different musical traditions."
